High Polished Stone Value (PSV) Surface Dressing

Polished Stone Value or PSV as it is commonly known is a test used to calculate the hardness of stone. Hard stone is required by law with local authorities to be placed on roads to improve stopping distances of traffic where the wearing of the surface dressed aggregates becomes retarded. Hanly Quarries Limited has recently invested €1.5 million in the establishment of a production facility for these aggregates.

Our crushing facility comprises a blend of jaw, impactor and cone crushers and produces high PSV aggregates over primary, secondary and tertiary processes. By comparison to many of our competitors the company has sourced a clean deposit of grey whacky at its second quarry where it uses raw material to produce this product. This product is available for blending through the macadam and asphalt plant also depending on the specifications required by individual local authorities, the NRA and road making contracts
